Who is responsible

Owner-Built Barndo is operated by Christopher Allen, who is the data controller for personal data collected through the Service. This means Christopher Allen decides how and why your data is processed.

Data we collect and why

• Account data (email, password hash) — to create and secure your account. Basis: contract.
• Project data (budgets, bids, permits, schedule, notes, checklist progress) — to provide the planner and Pro tools. Basis: contract.
• Purchase status (which products you own, subscription status) — to grant access. Basis: contract.
• Technical data (IP address, device and browser info, logs) — for security, fraud prevention, and fixing problems. Basis: legitimate interests.
• Support messages — to answer your questions. Basis: legitimate interests.

Card and payment details are collected by Paddle, not by us.

Who we share data with

• Service providers that host and run the Service (cloud hosting, database, authentication, email).
• Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for selling the product, subscription management, payments, tax compliance, and invoicing.
• Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where needed.
• Authorities where required by law.

We do not sell your personal data.

International transfers

Our providers may process data in other countries, including the United States. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Retention

We keep account and project data while your account is active. After you delete your account, we delete or anonymise it within 90 days, except records we must keep for legal or tax reasons.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export your data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. We respond to requests within one month.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls, and per-user data isolation, so only you can see your project data.

Cookies and local storage

We use only essential storage needed to keep you signed in, save planner progress, and run checkout. We do not use advertising cookies. You can clear this storage in your browser settings, though you may be signed out.
